Use of numerical methods such as CFD analysis in aerodynamic design, body optimization and retrofitting
Airplanes are common and unavoidable. CFD analysis requires an accurate, efficient and reliable 3D CAD model of the fuselage of aircraft. This was an university project that aimed to obtain accurate 3d model of Sukhoi-22 aircraft for aerodynamical purposes. The procedure is based on NURBS modeling of the aircraft fuselage surfaces. This is done using Geomagic, Rhino + T-spline and Catia software.
